Jakarta -The Government and Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives has agreed that the HAJJ Organization Agency (BP) has been changed to the Hajj and Umrah ministry. Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Anwar Abbas supported the decision and brought a number of heavy tasks performed by the new ministry. “I was welcome when BP Haji is raised to become a ministry, because the care of the pilgrimage is a difficult task,” Anwar said when he was contacted on Sunday (8/24/2025). Anwar said the formation of the Hajj and Umrah ministry is expected to erode coordination cases related to the implementation of the pilgrimage.
