Jakarta – Police arrested 9 people who stole machinery and iron from a warehouse in Serdang Bedagai (Sergai) Regency, North Sumatra (Sumut). The total loss due to the theft was about IDR 150 million. “All the perpetrators and their evidence have been detained at the Sergai Police Headquarters for further legal action,” Sergai Police Deputy Chief Commissioner Rudy told journalists, reported by detikSumut on Friday (10/24/2025). Rudy said the theft took place in a warehouse belonging to Aling (50) in Hamlet VI, Sei Rampah Village, Sei Rampah District. The victim discovered the theft on September 29, 2025. Scroll TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The nine perpetrators consisted of seven theft culprits named Rahmat Hidayat (42), M Al Afdul (23), M Robi Andika (22) Suwanda (41), Aziz (325), as well as (325), and Swardi (335), as two people named Rudi Ismawan (42) and Harto (29). Rudy explained that the incident was discovered after the victim’s workers came to the warehouse site to feed the victim’s livestock. On arrival at the location, the worker saw that the warehouse window was open. The witness then went home and told the victim that thieves had broken into the warehouse. Upon checking, several items were missing, namely a set of plastic milling machines, a water machine, aluminium, scrap metal, scales, copper, electrical seals and electrical cables. “As a result of this incident, the victim suffered a loss of IDR 150,000,000,” he said.
