On Sunday morning there was a slight decrease in the water level of the Pong Dam, but the flow of water remained above the danger mark, increasing vigilance among the residents living in the low -lying areas. According to official data, the water level of the reservoir was 1,393.03 feet at 06:00 on Sunday, which is less than 1,393.93 feet on Saturday. The risk level is considered 1.390 feet. The flow of water in the dam decreased from 38,773 Cuseecs from Saturday to 31,540 Cuseecs on Sunday, while the flowing flow remained stable at about 59,786 Cuseecs. Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) officials said that as the outflow of water exceeded the ongoing contact, the reservoir level gradually dropped. Despite the fall in the water level, the District Administration of Kangra and the nearby Hoshiarpur district of Punjab warned that local flooding can still occur in the low -location areas of the Beas River and its tributaries, especially if the rain continues. Farmers and residents of these areas are advised to be vigilant and follow official instructions. They urged the residents to prevent them from moving to flood areas, updating official warnings and keeping the necessary supplies ready, including drinking water, food and medicine. Those living in the river basin areas were also advised that if the water level rises unexpectedly, they move to high places immediately. The Kangraj Bairwa magistrate district emphasized that the water flow and the water level are being monitored continuously and that any sudden change will be reported immediately. The local administration was also instructed to keep emergency response teams ready to ensure the safety of communities living near the dam. Share this story -tags
