New -Delhi, September 27 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated a completely indigenous 4G network from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) from Jharsuguda in Odisha to the country on Saturday. On this historic event, he also inaugurated more than 97,500 BSNL mobile towers across the country. These modern 4G towers are completely based on indigenous technology, of which the estimated cost is Rs 37,000 crore. This step is to give India a new place in the field of confidence and technological innovation. North Eastern Region Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed happiness on this achievement, saying that India has now become the fifth country in the world to make telecommunications equipment. He said that this performance replaces the image of India of a service provider and consumer nation as a center of production, innovation, entrepreneurship and exports. Jyotiraditya Scindia mentioned this launch as historic and said that this indigenous 4G stack will connect every corner of the country with a high speed connectivity and that each section of society will gain the benefit. He said this network will bring revolutionary changes, not only in urban areas, but also in rural and remote areas. Whether it is remote villages of the northeast, areas under the live village program, districts affected by Naxal, islands or Hill villages Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal and Uttarakhand, all will be linked to high velocity internet. The Union Minister informed 100 percent access to mobile networks in this initiative in 6 Lakh 40 thousand towns of India. Jyotiraditya Scindia, while underlining the benefits of this connectivity, said this network will act like a bridge for the countrymen. If he gives examples, he said that the youth of Assam will be able to achieve global knowledge, Arunachal Pradesh weavers will be able to connect with the global markets, and farmers will be able to find a better market for their products and that patients can consult a doctor with one click. This indigenous 4G network will further strengthen India’s digital revolution, giving a new dimension to rural economy, education, health and entrepreneurship. -Ians Aks/DSC
