Digital Desk, New Delhi. To maintain good heart health, many people follow exercise and healthy lifestyle. Karthik Srinivasan from Bengaluru was also one of those people. Karthik used to run at least 5 kilometers every day and also stayed away from smoking. Despite this, however, he fell victim to heart disease. While sharing his ordeal on social media, Karthik asked the question, “Why me?” It is clear that just running is not enough, but for a healthy heart, getting enough sleep, reducing stress and eating a diet full of nutrients are equally important. Karthik narrated his story. Karthik Srinivasan is a communication professional in Bengaluru. Karthik says along with 2 blockages in his heart he also got a cardiac stent. However, he was lucky that at the time of his illness he himself went to the hospital and treated himself. About his healthy lifestyle, Karthik says that he started paying attention to health since 2011. According to Karthik, I used to run 5 kilometers every day for 290-300 days in a year. I slept early and was very conscious about eating. I don’t even smoke. As far as I know, no one in my family has heart disease. After 2018, when I started working from home, I don’t take much stress. Karthik says, “I tried to do everything better. I also reduced the outside food. I prefer to eat home-cooked food. Yes, sometimes I order food from outside, but very rarely.” According to Karthik, he underwent 2 major changes in his lifestyle and also underwent angioplasty and also underwent 2 stents. After this, he made some changes in his lifestyle, from which he saw many benefits. 1. Kartik takes deep breaths for some time every day before sleep and twice a day. It also helps them to sleep well and after waking up in the morning they feel refreshed. 2. Karthik now walks 8-10 thousand steps every day. Apart from daily running, he keeps walking for some time instead of sitting all day, so his heart health remains better.
