Indian stock market regulator Sebi on Wednesday introduced two new facilities to secure the payment of investors and prevent fraud by institutions without registrations. The first feature is @valid upi handle. Now the broker, mutual funds and other Sebi -registered institutions will use @valid handles with their UPIID. This will combine the category-specific indicator, such as .BRK for broker and for .mf-mutual funds. This means that investors will easily identify whether the organization is registered in Sebi or not. If the payment is made from this handle, the “Thumb up in the Green Triangle” icon will appear, ensuring the authenticity of the transaction. The QR code is also designed with this icon, so that the payment is easier and wrong. Sebi said that big brokers and all mutual funds have so far been adopted by this handle. This facility will also work with NEFT, RTGS and IMPs, so that investors can pay in their choice. The second initiative is Sebi check. It is a tool from which investors can check the bank account and UPI ID of any Sebi Registard Institute. This investigation can be conducted on the SEBI checkform, Safthi -DAPP or the Sebi website. Just have @valid UPI ID or bank account and IFSC. Sebi says both of these initiatives will increase the safety of investors, stop fraud and bring transparency into digital transactions.
