Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) again elected Sukhbir Singh Badal as president. This decision was made at an important party meeting. In the meeting, executive chairman Balwinder Singh Bhundad proposed no other candidate, after which all the leaders agreed to the name of Sukhbir Singh Badal. Senior party leaders, MLAs and workers attended this meeting of Shiromani Akali Dal. According to sources, the party’s previous term and its strategies led by Sukhbir Singh Badal were discussed. The leaders acknowledged that his experience and leadership would strengthen the politics of Punjab. Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed gratitude to all the leaders and workers after being elected president and said, “Our goal is to protect the interests of Punjab and strengthen the Akali Dal.” Sukhbir Singh Badal has long been one of the most important faces of the Shiromani Akali Dal. He only became the party president in 2008 and has been elected to this post many times. After the death of his father and former Punjab Minister Parkash Singh Badal, he fully handled the party’s order. However, in the last few years, the party faced several challenges, including a defeat in the 2022 elections and left the party of some leaders. Some sources say Sukhbir will now focus on strengthening the organization and giving new leaders a chance. In light of the 2027 election in Punjab, Sukhbir called on the workers to work united. He said: “We will work for the farmers, youth and all classes of Punjab. Our priority is the wealth and unity of Punjab.” Share this story -tags
