Progress in discussions about China's participation in Depa

Beijing, May 16 (IANS). International Trade Dialogue and Deputy Ministry of Chinese Trade Li Chaungkang recently attended the Ministerial Conference of Members of the China and Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (Depa) while attending the Conference of Apec trading ministers in Jeju, South Korea. On this occasion, Lee Chaungkang said that China made a different tiger contact with Depa members after the establishment of a work team for China’s participation in Depa. During this time, China’s determination, capacity and actions were shown to comply with the high standards of the agreement. Active progress was found in the discussions. China increases uninterrupted openness at the high level, actively combines with the economic and business regulations of the international high standard and maintains an international economic and business system based on the rule. Lee Chaungkang said China, after becoming a member of Depa, will give more opportunities to businesses of different parties and actively contribute to the long -term development of Depa and the creation of the rule of the international digital economy. At the same time, Depa members expressed their desire to increase different Valval Advice with China to make great progress in the discussions. It is said that on November 1, 2021, China requested to become a member of Depa. On August 18, 2022, the Department’s Joint Committee decided to set up a work team to hold related discussions.
