Patna’s JP Ganga Path project, known as Marine Drive, will be expanded to Didarganj. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will set the JP Ganga road on the banks of the Ganges River in Patna on Thursday, April 10. The project, which costs about Rs 3.831 crore, was built by Bihar State Road Construction Corporation. This road spreads over a length of 20.5 km, and connects two important ends of Patna City. The main features of Patna Marine Drive in Patna, better contact between important places such as Atal Path, LCT Ghat, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University, Nit, Krishna Ghat, Gaighat, Kangan Ghat and Patna Ghat. With the completion of the construction of Diga to Kangan Ghat, there will be a lot of relief from Patna’s traffic -related problems. Major tourists, educational, medical, religious and social sites will decrease in time and distance. Direct contact with Patna Ring Road, which will make this route even more effective. People from North -Bihar, especially Saran, Gopalganj, Siwan and other districts, save a lot of time to take to PMCH for treatment. A fantastic view of tourists on the banks of the Ganges River, especially in the evening. The region will be developed as an important tourist and gardening under the Smart Patna project. This detail will significantly improve infrastructure and connectivity in Patna and surrounding areas. Approval for the exit during ‘Pragati Yatra’ was approved in February 2025 during the ‘Pragati Yatra’ of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to direct contact from Mandi Nala to the JP Ganga road and the construction of an exit in Gaighat. The specialty of this path is the multifaceted connection. This is the best option for Patna areas where heavy traffic is left. With the completion of the expansion, the travel time will be reduced between two opposite points of Patna, Dija to Didarganj. The foundation stone of this project, named after JP Narayan, was laid on the birthday of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan on October 11, 2013 and has since been called the ‘JP Ganga Path’. Construction is done in phases. The first phase covers a distance of 7.5 km from thigh to Gandhi Maidan, which was opened to the public on June 24, 2022. The second phase, from PMCh to Gaighat (5.0 km), was inaugurated on 14 August 2023.
