The Program quota of 3 million houses increased by 5000 units in Northern Sumatra

Jakarta -Good news has come for the people of Northern Sumatra (Northern Sumatra). The three million houses program quota for this province received an additional 5000 units of the central government this year. This addition increases the total quota of Northern Sumatra from 15,000 to 20,000 units. This addition was directly approved by the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, after the governor of the Northern Sumatra, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasicut, suggested the quota for next year. However, Maruarar decided not to wait long, and also gave the addition for this year. He emphasized the importance of cooperation of all parties, so that development goals can be achieved within a short time. Browse to continue with the content “Nobody can work alone. There are only three months left, so we have to be united,” Maruarar said in a written statement on Saturday (11/10/2025). “Later, the governor will help with licensing, banks will help with funding, and so on,” he continued. Maruarar also emphasized that the three million homes program not only focuses on providing housing but also encourages economic growth through the formation of a strong housing development ecosystem. “This program creates a broad economic ecosystem, there are significant sellers, contractors, developers and banks. Like now, Bank Bri makes it easier for MSMEs in the construction sector to gain access to funding,” Maruarar said. This decision was announced on Thursday (9/10) during the Housing Program Credit Socialization event at the Regal International Convention Center, Jalan Adam Malik, Medan. At the event, the governor of the Northern Sumatra Bobby Nasution expressed his gratitude. “We are very grateful to the minister who increased the quota by 5000 units immediately this year. Developers, contractors and building materials have all said they are ready, so we must be optimistic that this target can be reached,” Bobby said. According to Bobby, the gap between housing needs and availability (backlog) in Northern Sumatra is still high and reaches about 938.217 households. Therefore, he sees this additional quota as an important step in accelerating the provision of adequate housing for the community. “Our backlog is quite high. There are still many people who do not have homes, not to mention those who are not livable yet,” Bobby said. “So we have to pursue it so that our people can have a decent place to live immediately,” he continued. On this occasion, Indonesian Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian added that the housing sector has a significant double impact on the national economy. “The three million homes program is estimated to contribute about 2% to national economic growth. Apart from that, this program also involves different sectors, from the local government, the private sector, to the community,” Tito said. For your information, the event was also attended by a member of the DPR Ri Musa Rajexhah, CEO of Bri Group HERY GUNADI, elements of the Northern Sumatra Vurkopimda, as well as a number of Northern Sumatra Provincial OPD leaders, housing developers, contractors, building materials, building materials and MSMEs in the construction sector.
