What is a wonderful project dispute? There was a long -standing dispute between Goa and Karnataka over the water of the Mahadayi River. However, the rhetoric continues, even after being agreed upon this dispute several times. The Mahadayi River is a total of 77 km long. Most of his side comes from Goa. That is, out of 77 kilometers is 52 km in Goa and the remaining 29 km in Karnataka. It comes from the Belgaum district of Karnataka. Karnataka is trying to bring a project to this river. Want to build a dam in it. This should be dumped into two channels called Calvary and Banduri. In doing so, the government wants to increase the supply of water in many of its districts. However, the government of Goa is against this project. This is why Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, said again that he was taking the case to the Supreme Court. What did Siddaramaeah say about Sawant’s statement? Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant said in a statement in the meeting that the Minister of Water Sources of the Central Government had assured him that he would not start the project in Karnataka. It was only after Sawant’s statement that the CM of Karnataka came under the target. Karnataka CM Citaramaiah said Mahadayi is Karnataka for drinking water needs. The Chief Minister of Karnataka said that the central government, despite the grant of 13.42 TMC water to the state in a 2018 tribunal decision, is implementing the project in collaboration with the GOA BJP government. The chief minister said: “The project will extinguish the thirst of more than 40 Lakh people in Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Bagalkot and surrounding areas. It is a lifeline, not a way to negotiate.
