The puzzle of logs washed away by floods in Sumatra

Logs on West Sumatra beach. Reported by Antara, Saturday (29/11/2025), not only in North Sumatra, logs were also scattered on Air Tawar Beach, Padang, West Sumatra (Sumbar). Logs lie scattered along the beach after flash floods. This heap is proof of the strength of the water that carries material from upstream to the shore. Timber material has been carried away by flash floods and now fills the coastline. This view shows the real impact of flash floods in the last few days in Padang. Ministry of Forestry will investigate The Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut) has responded to the circulation of a video of logs being carried away by flood currents. The Ministry of Forestry suspects that the logs of land rights holders (PHAT) are located in other use areas (APL). “We detected that it is from PHAT in APL. PHAT is the holder of land rights. In the logging area we detected from PHAT in APL, the mechanism for natural growth of wood follows Forestry Regulations, in this case SIPPUH, Forest Product Administration Information System,” said Director General of Law Enforcement (Gakkum) of the Ministry of Forestry, Nura Dwi Janu. (29/11/2025). Allegedly weathered logbook. Temporary suspicion is that the wood comes from logs that have become so rotted that they were carried away by the flood currents. To reveal all this, it is necessary to carry out a thorough inspection by the Ministry of Forestry’s Gakkum team, as flooding still occurs today. Dwi said that the Ministry of Forestry’s Gakkum often conducts operations to uncover the modus operandi of stealing illegal timber as a result of illegal logging by PHAT. Including a number of cases found in the areas of Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra, which are currently experiencing flooding. Asked about the possibility that the timber came from illegal timber theft through the PHAT scheme, Dwi said his party could not rule out the potential that the timber came from a similar method. “Friends are still watching, yes, but we will signal there,” he explained. Notes on the transformation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs under the leadership of Agus Andrianto

Minister of Impipas explains the beginning of the idea of food security in prisons

Jakarta – Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) Agus Andrianto explained how the idea of food security in correctional institutions (prisons) originated. When he first assumed office, the IMIPA Ministry had ‘homework’ or homework, namely the findings of the Financial Audit Agency (FAU) in relation to the number of unused or vacant land that has not been utilized. This finding, Minister Agus said, was repeated. This took place at a time when Immigration and Corrections was still under the auspices of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. “We faced the BPK’s findings, there was a lot of trivial ground that we did not take advantage of. Because we are a new ministry, we are conducting an audit of the health of the organization. We will find out what are the weaknesses, what are the shortcomings, what are the obstacles, what are the problems,” Minister Agus explained as he conducted information sessions on food security to village officials, blomasib and farm officials at the farm officials and the farmer groups provided. the Blora Regent’s Hall, Central Java on Saturday (29/11/2025). SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Minister Agus explained that the efforts to complete the PR were then aligned with President Prabowo’s vision, as a direction, namely the realization of Food Security. “That’s why the president naturally gave direction, so all our assistants must be guided by what the president is directed to,” Minister Agus said. Minister Agus said that the spirit of Food Security in correctional settings has increased and grown, especially in correctional institutions that have a lot of vacant land. Even if the technical service unit (UPT) does not have large areas of land, it can still participate in food security such as the cultivation of plants in polybags, the cultivation of catfish and so on. “Therefore, we at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, especially in prisons, even though the prison in Blora has limited land, they are trying to build food security,” Minister Agus said. So where will the results of Food Security be absorbed? Minister Agus explained that each region works with third parties or vendors to provide basic food ingredients for prisons. Vendors supplying food ingredients are required to absorb a minimum of five percent of the proceeds from food security activities in prisons. “Five percent of the proceeds must be taken by food suppliers,” Minister Agus continued. Minister Agus therefore means that the results of prison food security have economic value. And the absorption proceeds of food vendors generate rupiah for the prison. Income from Food Security proceeds is shared for the welfare of prison officers and inmates participating in the food security program. Meanwhile, Minister Agus made a rule that food ingredient suppliers must be local entrepreneurs, to mobilize micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the area around the prison, so that they feel the economic impact. “This food should be managed by local business actors, not Jakarta (or central). Before, food managers from Jakarta could manage Jambi, manage Kalimantan. From East Java, they managed it in the Sulawesi area, so local entrepreneurs did not have the opportunity because they did not have experience,” Minister Agus said. Minister Agus said that local entrepreneurs who do not have experience in supplying food to prisons need not be discouraged. The Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) will guide local entrepreneurs. “That is why we are changing the requirements for the supply of food ingredients. It is good if you do not have experience, we will guide and guide you, as well as absorb the results of Food Security which is of concern to the President,” Minister Agus said. Finally, Minister Agus emphasized the importance of improving food security for the Indonesian nation. “Artificial intelligence can replace several professions. The only thing that cannot be replaced is food,” he concluded. (au/mo)

Now apps like WhatsApp-Telegram won’t work without an active SIM (symbolic picture) IANS, New Delhi. To bring a major change in the way popular messaging apps are used, the central government has imposed new conditions for services like WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Snapchat, ShareChat, JioChat, Aarattai and Josh. The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has mandated that these apps will now only work when an active SIM card is present in the user’s device. Remove Ads Read News Only The government said the orders are being implemented with immediate effect and companies will have to implement the system within 90 days and submit compliance reports within 120 days. This order was issued under the Telecom CyberSecurity (Amendment) Rules, 2025, whereby app-based telecom services were included in the strict telecom regulatory regime for the first time. New system to be implemented within 90 days DoT has clarified that all such services will have to ensure within 90 days from the instructions that the application can be used with the same active SIM card whose mobile number was used to identify the consumer. Without it, it should be impossible to run the application. Strict rules for web users: Under the new rules, it will be mandatory for the web version of the app to log out automatically every six hours. To log in again, the user will need to re-pair the device through the QR code. Strict steps to stop cyber fraud DoT has warned that misuse of the facility to run apps without SIM is increasing in cyber crimes committed from abroad affecting the telecom security infrastructure. The department said these directions are necessary to prevent misuse of telecommunications identifiers and “maintain the integrity and security of the telecommunications ecosystem”. Why are these rules necessary? The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) had earlier indicated that the functioning of messaging apps independently of SIMs poses a security risk. Cybercriminals, especially gangs operating from abroad, can continue to commit fraud through these apps even after the SIM is deactivated or replaced. In such cases, it becomes difficult to trace criminals from call records, location logs or any telecom data. According to COAI, mandatory SIM bonding will create a trusted link between the user, phone number and device, which will help curb spam, scam calls and financial fraud.

Despite the health minister’s claim, there is a huge shortage of medicines in Delhi government hospitals, people are forced to buy from outside – Delhi government hospitals face shortage of medicines despite ministers’ claim

Updated: Sun, 30 Nov 2025 05:30 (IST) There is a severe shortage of medicines in Delhi government hospitals, forcing patients to buy medicines from outside. Contrary to what the Health Minister claims, essential medicines are not available in hospitals, causing problems for the patients. The problem is even more serious for poor patients, as they cannot afford expensive medicines. The hospital administration is silent on this matter. There is a severe shortage of life-saving medicines in Delhi government hospitals. Jagran Correspondent, New Delhi. Despite Dr. Health Minister Pankaj Singh’s claim that there is no shortage of medicines in hospitals, the acute shortage of essential and life-saving medicines in Delhi government hospitals is becoming a serious health crisis. Remove Advertisement Only Read News When the injured were brought to the hospital on the day of the Red Fort blast, the hospital management had to borrow medicine and surgical material from the Jan Aushadhi Center on the campus to maintain treatment arrangements. This shows that the ground reality of the Delhi government’s claims that there is no shortage of medicines and goods in government hospitals is contrary to this. A Serious Humanitarian Problem: The drug crisis in Delhi’s government hospitals is not just an administrative lapse, but has become a serious humanitarian problem. The difference between government claims and ground reality puts the whole system in the dock. The question of the patients who reached the hospital is simply, ‘When it is the responsibility of the government to supply medicine to the hospitals, why should we buy medicine from outside?’ In major government hospitals of the national capital, patients are not getting important medicines related to heart, brain, kidney and infections. Whatever is available is also not complete. The main reason for this is the slowness of the central purchasing system, delay in the tender process and the demands of hospitals that are not met on time. The management of the government hospital blames it on the lack of timely supply of medicines. Although the list of essential medicines was sent months ago, the supply is not according to the demand. What happens is much less than the question. Patients are paying the price for untimely tenders by the Central Purchasing Agency, long delays in supplies and non-updating of supplies in hospitals. Crisis in Lok Nayak and GTB Hospital Most of the life saving antibiotics like Meropenem, Vancomycin, Piperacillin-Tazobactam are not easily available in Lok Nayak Hospital. In most cases, patients are asked to bring it from outside, ICU doctors say that the patient should buy injections from outside, while they should be available free of charge in the hospital. The GTB is no less worrying. According to hospital doctors, the stock of Clopidogrel, Atorvastatin, Heparin injection and insulin and metformin required for heart and stroke patients and insulin and metformin for diabetes patients are repeatedly running out, but the stock is not as per the requirement. According to doctors, many times the situation became so bad that the medicine of heart patients had to be stopped. Shortage of medicine has become a problem. Patients who reached GB Pant and DDU hospitals said that non-availability of renal erythropoietin and phosphate binder and levetiracetam and phenobarbitone for neuro patients had become a problem for them on several occasions. Not only this, it becomes difficult to get medicines like paracetamol syrup, amoxicillin syrup, cough syrup and salbutamol and formoterol inhaler which are essential for asthma treatment. Patients and their family members claimed that some important medicines like Linezolid and Ipravent syrup were not included in the list of essential medicines, while other medicines like them should have been included. Because they are practically the most necessary. In this matter, when the health minister of the Delhi government sent a written message on WhatsApp three days ago asking for information in this regard, he did not give any response. Instead of answering the question, he set a timer to delete WhatsApp messages within 24 hours.

Punjab Roadways workers’ strike continues, 152 employees sacked; Important meeting of transport minister today – punjab roads strike 152 employees sacked minister meeting today

Updated: Sun, 30 Nov 2025 05:30 (IST) The strike of Punjab Roadways employees continues due to which passengers are facing problems. The government fired 152 employees. The demands of the employees are salary increase and job security. The transport minister will hold an important meeting with employees’ representatives today to end the strike. Due to the strike, buses are not running on many routes. Bus strike continues in Punjab (file photo) Jagran Correspondent, Chandigarh. The strike by road contract workers protesting against the mileage scheme in Punjab continued for the second day on Saturday. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reached Kurali bus stand in Rupnagar district at around 4.30 am on Saturday morning to meet the passengers who were upset over the non-running of buses. Interacted with the passengers standing in the cold and listened to their problems. After this, the officers were instructed to act. Remove advertisement Just read the news By evening the Transport Department had dismissed 152 striking employees. The rest were given an ultimatum to return to work. If they do not return to work, their services will be terminated. Transport Minister Laljit Bhullar has also called a meeting of the Roadways Union in Chandigarh for discussions at 12 noon on Sunday. Passengers standing at Kurali bus stand to go to Sri Harmandir Sahib Amritsar, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Dera Vyas told the CM that they had been waiting for the bus for the last one hour in the cold. After this, the CM called the DC on the spot and gave directions. He stayed here among the passengers for about an hour and a half. Also drank tea with him in the cold. People should not have problems. Mann said that our doors are open to discussions. Employees have the democratic right to protest, but they must ensure that people do not face any problems. Following this, the Transport Department issued dismissal notices to the striking employees in the afternoon. The employees sacked till Saturday evening include 108 employees of Punjab Roadways and 44 employees of Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC). Among them there are 10 against whom a case of culpable homicide has been registered in Sangrur. There is no right to strike. About 5,000 roads employees are currently on strike in Punjab. A senior official of the department said that since these employees are on contract basis, they cannot be suspended and they also have no right to strike. If they do not return to work, their services will be terminated. Due to this protest, tenders were to be issued by the state government to purchase buses under the kilometer scheme. Contract workers are opposed to this. They claim that the government is avoiding making buses permanent by purchasing them under the kilometer scheme. It is worth noting that under the mileage scheme, only temporary employees are appointed to drive all the buses plying in the state. The employees are demanding that the government should buy buses for Punjab Roadways and PRTC instead of buying buses under the Kilometer scheme so that they can be made permanent.
