Jakarta – The Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Bobby Nasution directly led the evacuation and opening of emergency roads after the flash floods and landslides that occurred in the Central Tapanuli Regency (Tapteng). He asked all elements of the provincial government, together with the TNI, Polri and Basarnas, to continue to speed up disaster management. “We are committed to strengthening disaster management efforts and ensuring the fulfillment of the basic needs of the community at evacuation posts,” Bobby said after chairing a disaster management coordination meeting in Tapteng, reported by detiksumut, Saturday (29/11/2025). Scroll TO CONTINUE CONTENT Bobby said that thousands of residents have currently been evacuated to the refugee command post at GOR Pandan. He ensured that the basic needs of the refugees were met. Apart from food and medicine logistics, Bobby said his party has also added supporting facilities such as health services, access to electricity, wifi, as well as special needs for mothers and children. However, Bobby admitted that there are still many residents who are still isolated because the four main routes to the villages in Tapteng cannot yet be passed. He directed the entire joint team to speed up the opening of the emergency route. “Our current priority is to evacuate residents who are still trapped and ensure that logistical assistance can reach the worst affected areas,” he stressed. Bobby ensured that cross-institutional coordination would continue to be improved so that handling was swift, precise and comprehensive. “God willing, by working together, we can reduce the impact and speed up recovery,” he added.
