Orders have been given to stop vehicles on all the highways of the state when visibility is less than 50 meters. Remove advertisement Read news only In the direction of the government, it was said that all the highway authorities (UPEDA, YIDA), National Highway Authority of India and Uttar Pradesh State Highway Authority (UPSHA) must ensure that when the visibility on the route is less than 50 meters, all the buses must be stopped at a safe place near public convenience areas or toll plazas. Patrolling will be increased in mist-infested corridors and accident-prone areas and arrangements for ambulances, canes and firemen must be ensured at suitable locations for any adverse situation. To provide adequate lighting on the route, arrangements for solar high-mast lights and anti-fog lights should be ensured. Lane marking, reflector demarcation, cat eye etc. and installation of appropriate retro-reflective signs must be ensured on the routes. The damaged vehicles parked along the road should be immediately removed and parked in designated safe places by effective patrolling and cranes. Yamuna Authority’s ACEO Shailendra Bhatia said that the order was issued by the government. This will be strictly followed. Fog Management Safety Tips Check the weather forecast for your entire route before you set off. Keep speed low. Allow extra time to reach your destination and drive slower than usual. Keep low-beam headlights on. This makes your vehicle clearly visible to others. Make sure the taillights are on too. Do not use high beams in fog, as the light reflects off the fog and further impairs visibility. Provide indicators in advance. Give early signals before you turn or stop and brake slowly. Maintain more distance from the vehicle moving ahead. Keep extra following distance to be safe in case of a sudden stop. Be especially careful at intersections. Use windshield wipers and defogger. Keep headlights and windshield clean.
