Rampur, October 31 (IANS). Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan spoke about promotion to senior UP police officer Anuj Chaudhary in the SP government. He said that when Akhilesh Yadav was the Chief Minister of the state, he got promotion. Speaking to IANS, he said that in the video in which it is said that I said something to him, when it was not so, I did not do anything with him. Akhilesh Yadav promoted him because he won a medal in wrestling. There was no need for it to be done but he did it, that was the luck of Anuj Chaudhary. Referring to an incident, he said that I was going to my party office that day, which was sealed. The police stopped ordinary people on their way, even though section 144 did not apply there. People were stopped by erecting barricades. I didn’t like it. There should be no attack on people’s freedom, but it happened there. I just got on and said what are you doing? In this way you defame the government itself. It defames the government whose salary you take. He gave some answer, which was his style. The same person said that if color gets on your body, you will cut it off and throw it away? I reminded him what our government gave you. It was not misconduct on my part, I wanted to remind them of that. When SP leader Azam Khan was asked if he would seek help from the party for the case fees and fine. At this he asked if my innocence would allow it. I can’t do it. People may exchange their honor, but it will not happen to us.
