Jaipur, November 29 (IANS). Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday denied any differences of opinion between Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. He said that there is no divorce between them, but only love. Addressing the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, the former chief minister said that if leaders sit together at the breakfast table, it shows unity. Love is not news, divorce is news. There is no divorce in Karnataka, there is love. Rejecting reports of infighting in Karnataka, Gehlot said the Congress is united under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Kharge. He reacted sharply to the ongoing discussions within the Congress over the alleged power-sharing formula and leadership confusion, especially in the context of the developments in Karnataka and the earlier cases in Chhattisgarh. Gehlot said that many leaders casually adopt the name of Rahul Gandhi and claim that he was sent to become the chief minister or that he was promised power sharing. Gehlot said that people are taking the name Rahul Gandhi. Some claim he was promised two and a half years. The same two and a half year formula was also brought during the Chhattisgarh government. Such things harm the party. Referring to the current situation in Karnataka, Gehlot emphasized that only Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi are aware of the actual decisions. He further said that if there is a formula of two and a half years, then the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka should confirm it. Otherwise, it’s just a rumor. Referring to Rajasthan, Gehlot strongly criticized the current administration, describing it as incompetent and irresponsible. He said that there is an incompetent government in Rajasthan. Law and order has broken down. Accidents and suicides happen every day. Gehlot also accused the Election Commission of taking partisan action and warned that its stance could pose a threat to India’s democratic fabric. –IANS MS/DKP Share this story Tags
