The deceased has been identified as Moushumi Kumari, daughter of village resident Arjun Paswan. Arjun Paswan is said to have married his daughter Moushumi to Rahul Paswan, a resident of Punjabi Mohalla of Lakhisarai district in the year 2020. After the marriage, Moushumi’s in-laws harassed her for dowry. Meanwhile, Moushumi became pregnant and gave birth to twin daughters, after which her in-laws began to harass her more. Family members said that his in-laws demanded money from him every day, beat and harassed him. After giving birth to twin daughters, she began to be mentally tortured. Due to continuous torture, Moushumi’s father Arjun Paswan and brother W Paswan went to her in-laws’ house and brought her back to their mother’s house. Moushumi also filed a complaint against her in-laws in court. But her husband did not appear in court. After this, attempts were made to reach an agreement at the Panchayat level but things did not work out. W Paswan told last Sunday evening we all had dinner together and went to bed. The next morning when we all woke up, we went to wake him up. When we broke the room door, we found her hanging. Family members informed about the matter. The police sent the body to Jamui for postmortem.
