Digital Desk, New Delhi. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s problems seem to be increasing in the Masala bond case. Actually, ED issued a show cause notice to the CM. Now controversy over this is increasing in the state. The Congress on Tuesday said it does not trust the notice issued by ED to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the KIIFB masala bond case. Congress made it an election gimmick. Not only that, the Congress termed this notification from the national agency as a fraud. The Congress made these allegations. Let us tell you that while talking to reporters here, senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala said that there is huge corruption involved in the masala bonds issued by Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) and it should be investigated sooner or later. He said that the Congress will go to any extent to bring out the truth in this matter and expose corruption. While accusing both BJP and CPI(M) of misusing the ED, Chennithala alleged that the recent show cause notice is part of the undercurrent between the two parties. Congress’s claim – ED sends notices only at the time of elections. He claimed that ED will send notices at the time of elections. After the election, there will be no follow-up. This is a ploy by BJP to help CPI(M). The former home minister further claimed that the move was an attempt to save Chief Minister Vijayan and his government, which has become notorious for anti-people policies. He also alleged that a Canadian company (identified as a major investor in KIIFB masala bonds) has close links with SNC-Lavalin. It is noteworthy that ED has issued a clear notice to Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan, former Finance Minister TM Thomas Isaac and Principal Secretary to CM KM Abraham in the KIIFB Masala Bond case. No personal appearance is required under this notice. ED sources said show cause notices are issued after the FEMA probe is completed, and the violations specified therein attract penalties.
