Blitar – Megawati Soekarnoputri, Chief Chairperson of the PDIP, spoke about the reason why she does not have a mobile phone (HP) until now. Megawati said she was a much sought after figure and many people wanted to know about her. This was conveyed by Megawati when she was the keynote speaker at the international seminar commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference (KAA) at the Bung Karno Library, Blitar, East Java, on Saturday (31/10/2025). Megawati initially mentioned the habit of many people focusing more on their mobile phones, even at important moments. “Why did you come, huh? If you don’t use it to listen to something that I think is very meaningful. Just sing? Sorry my friend, it’s not for you, it’s for my people. Also you can talk, there are many people abroad now too. He emphasized that the reason he does not have a mobile phone is that many people want to know about him, while not everyone has good intentions. “I always thought, there’s a law for cell phones. I don’t have a cell phone because, you know why? Because I’m someone who’s wanted. Do you understand what I mean? Everyone wants to know me, but not everyone is a good person. Do you understand? So I don’t have a cell phone, no. When people say nintel, intel, or espionage,” he said. For your information, the international seminar commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference (KAA) is themed ‘Bung Karno in a Global History: Commemorative Seminar of the 70th Anniversary of the 1955 Bandung Asian-African Conference’. Megawati arrived in Blitar City on Friday (30/10). Delegates from various countries in Asia and Africa who participated in the seminar first made a pilgrimage to the grave of the first president of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno. They prayed and scattered flowers on Bung Karno’s grave. Afterwards, the delegates entered the Bung Karno Library to see the history of the preacher’s life before continuing the seminar activities.
