As 525 cadets took the last step on the historic Chetwood Drill Square of the Indian Military Academy, the parents’ eyes were moist and their chests full of pride. 491 Indian and 34 foreign cadets from 14 friendly countries participated in the passing out parade of IMA. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi took the salute from the parade. As soon as the parade ended, helicopters dropped flowers from the sky. मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने कहा कि पूरे प्रदेश में एसआईआर (मतदाता सूची पुनरीक्षण) की प्रक्रिया लगातार जारी है. यह पूरी तरह से मतदाता शुद्धिकरण के लिए है. उत्तर प्रदेश की 25 करोड़ की आबादी में करीब 65 प्रतिशत लोग वयस्क हैं, यानी संभावित मतदाता लगभग 16 करोड़ होने चाहिए. लेकिन एसआईआर में अभी केवल 12 करोड़ नाम दर्ज हैं, यानी लगभग 4 करोड़ वयस्क मतदाता सूची में नहीं हैं. उन्होंने बताया कि पहले की सूची में 15.44 करोड़ मतदाता दर्ज थे, इसलिए वयस्क मतदाताओं के जुड़ने से संख्या बढ़नी चाहिए थी, लेकिन अब घटकर 12 करोड़ रह गई है. मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि अब केवल 12 दिन बचे हैं और सभी को ड्राफ्ट सूची का अवलोकन कर अपने नाम को सही ढंग से जुड़वाने का कार्य करना होगा.
