Polri inaugurates remote certification building for assistant investigators

Jakarta – The National Police inaugurated the Remote Certification Building. The National Police Professional Certification Institute (LSP) has conducted the first kick-off of remote certification for police investigators and assistant investigators. This program is an important part of accelerating National Police transformation, which aims to strengthen the professionalism of investigators, while responding to public demands for more accountable and adaptable law enforcement services. This event was also attended by the National Police’s strategic partners from ministries/agencies, namely Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor, head of BNSP RI Syamsi Hari, and BNSP license assessor Ade Syaekudin. Their presence confirms that increasing the competence of investigators is an important agenda for the state to strengthen the quality of public services. In his remarks, the Deputy Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized that competency certification for investigators is a regulatory mandate as well as an important tool to ensure the quality of performance of law enforcement officers. He explained that Long Range Certification (LRC) is a strategic innovation capable of reaching staff in multiple regions, including remote areas, while ensuring that assessments are conducted valid, reliable, fair and evidence-based according to BNSP standards. The Deputy Minister of Manpower said that the use of technology, the strengthening of assessors and the planning of sustainable human resource development are the keys to the success of this programme. Certification covers nine schemes, ranging from general crimes, money laundering, cyber, corruption, narcotics, to the competence of national police educators. Even though it is conducted online, the integrity of the assessment process is still maintained through multi-layer supervision and a secure digital system. He added that this portfolio-based assessment is in line with international practice and is part of national efforts to improve the quality of human resources, which have achieved significant achievements this year. On this occasion Karo Penmas Divhumas Polri Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko emphasized that the acceleration of this certification was the Polri’s response to increasingly high public expectations regarding the quality of case handling. “This Remote Certification is not just an internal Polri program, but an urgent need to ensure that every investigator has the same, modern and accountable competency standards. The public has the right to get legal services that are fast, precise and professional – and the Polri answers this through stronger competency standardization based on national regulations,” says Trunoyudo. He added that the National Police is now entering an important phase with the immediate implementation of the new Criminal Procedure Code and Penal Code, which requires investigators to increasingly understand evidentiary standards, modern procedures, and technology at every stage of the investigation. According to him, the implementation of SJJ allows certification to be carried out on a large scale without disrupting daily operations in the field so that services to the community continue to run optimally. In his report, Karorenmin Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Yudhi Sulistianto Wahid explained that the construction of this building stems from the strategic need to increase the capacity of investigators and accelerate the digitization of the process of development of Polri human resources. This new building is equipped with computer-based testing facilities, an integrated command center, an assessor room as per BNSP standards, a multi-mode teleconference room and a data center with a daily backup system. The first certification by SJJ was attended by six regional police in the eastern region, from Papua to North Maluku, who were connected in real time with LSP Polri assessors. The inauguration of the building and the implementation of the SJJ is an important milestone in the National Police’s commitment to provide more modern, transparent and reliable law enforcement services. Through synergy with the Ministry of Manpower and BNSP, Polri ensures that increasing the professionalism of investigators is not only an organizational need, but a public interest that must be realized immediately.
