Sensex, Nifty 50 snap 4-day losing streak; mid, small-cap underperform— 10 key highlights of the Indian stock market

The Sensex and the Nifty 50 on Thursday, December 4 traced their last four consecutive session losing streak. The Sensex gained 159 points or 0.19% to close at 85,265.32, while the Nifty 50 ended at 26,035,483.03%. However, the mid-cap and small-cap segments remained under pressure. The BSE Midcap index fell by 0.19% while the Smallcap index fell by 0.32%. IT stocks Infosys and TCS were the biggest contributors to the gains in the Sensex index.
