Chhattisgarh: Udanti Area Committee of Bijapur appealed to Maoists to surrender

Bijapur, October 18 (IANS). Udanti Area Committee of Chhattisgarh issued a letter appealing to the Maoists active in the organization to surrender. In the letter, Udanti Area Committee leader Sunil appealed to the Maoists to give up their arms and return to the mainstream so that they could continue the social struggle in a new form by living among the people. The letter comes after recent large-scale surrenders in Maharashtra and Bastar region. The letter mentioned that the current conditions are not conducive to armed struggle, the pressure of the security forces has increased and the organization has not been able to advance the revolution as expected. The letter reads: “On October 16, Sonu Dada in Maharashtra with 61 comrades and on October 17 in Bastar, Rupesh Dada alias Satish Dada with 210 comrades stopped the armed movement. The circumstances are no longer so under the pressure of the force that the revolution can be carried forward as before. That is why we will also solve the problems with the mass movement.” It is also written in the letter that Udanti team will now stop the armed movement in Gariaband. He also appealed to the Maoists of other units (Gobra, Sinapali, SDK and Sitanadi) to give up and surrender their arms and join the mainstream. At the end of the letter, Sunil wrote that the organization is now preparing to continue the public struggle in a new form by staying with the people. He also requested the public to spread this message to other comrades as soon as possible. Let us tell you that within three days around 468 Naxalites surrendered. In this, the maximum number of 405 Naxalites laid down their arms in Chhattisgarh, while 61 Naxalites laid down their arms in Maharashtra. –IANS DCH/SCH Share this story Tags
