Film ‘Karz’ completes 17 years, T-series refreshes memories with ‘Tandoori Nights’

Mumbai, October 17 (IANS). Renowned singer and composer Himesh Reshammiya and actress Urmila Matondkar’s film ‘Karz’ completed 17 years of its release on Friday. On this occasion, T-Series relived the old journey with fans through social media. T-Series posted a clip of the film’s famous song ‘Tandoori Nights’ on its official Instagram account with the caption, “The magic of Karz songs remains intact even after 17 years.” Talking about the song ‘Tandoori Nights’, it was sung by Himesh Reshammiya and Sunidhi Chauhan in their melodious voices. The lyrics of the song are penned by famous lyricist Sameer, while the music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya himself. This song was released under the banner of T-Series and became very popular among the youth at that time. The energetic music and catchy beats of the song make the listeners dance even today. The film ‘Karz’ was directed by Satish Kaushik and was released in theaters on 17 October 2008. Besides Himesh Reshammiya, Urmila Matondkar and Dino Morea were also in important roles in this film. This film was a remake of the film ‘Karz’ starring Rishi Kapoor and Simi Garewal, released in 1980. The original film could not make a special place among the audience in its time based on story and music. It is said that due to the flop of the film, actor Rishi Kapoor fell into depression and took a break for a few days. At the same time, the 2008 remake failed to do much at the box office, after which the actress never got the lead role again. Finally, he started judging TV reality shows in the year 2011.
