Aisha reportedly did not receive medical treatment for the diabetes she suffered from for a long time while in a refugee camp due to the floods. “There isn’t, there isn’t,” said Aisha’s husband, Muhamad Asan, at the refugee camp. The family said Aisha did not have time to bring medicine when she fled when the great flood occurred at the end of last November. He said Aisha was ill during the evacuation. “From the moment we evacuated, he was not well, he had been sick with diabetes for a long time, and he has diabetes, so he did not bring his medicine here,” Asan said. He said it took two days to travel to survive. Adi is a teaching staff at SMK Negeri 2 Karang Baru. That day, November 28, 2025, he had just come home from school when it rained without a break until the water level reached 2 meters in a matter of hours. In a short time, his boarding house turned into a small island surrounded by overflowing brown water. “The water continued to rise, Bro, up to 2 meters. We took shelter in a boarding house on the second floor, for days with four other family heads,” he told detikSumut on Saturday (6/12/2025). When the flood gradually receded, mini markets reportedly began to be looted. He said no help had reached the surrounding community. “I don’t know what to do anymore. There is no help. There is no signal. There is no electricity,” he said. On December 1, when the water receded completely, he decided to leave Aceh Tamiang. Adi hopes to be able to contact his family in Sumedang. He also had time to cycle to Langsastad. On the way, however, the bike was damaged and many road accesses were still cut off. Just to get a signal, Adi continued to walk towards Medan City. He had time to stop several trucks, but was refused because he was afraid they would be looted. “After bringing basic necessities, truck drivers were afraid to carry passengers because many trucks were looted. I was rejected,” Adi said. “There is no money. My identity is all lost,” he continued. Long story short, Adi finally arrived in Binjai City on Saturday (6/12), after two days of walking. The internet signal also came to his cell phone. “In Binjai City I was finally able to charge my cell phone battery and have a network, contact my family and finally take the bus to Medan,” he said. Flood leaves wood and mud Large floods have left piles of wood and mud in Tanjung Karang Village, Karang Baru, Aceh Tamiang. Wood and mud have accumulated covering the Darul Mukhlishin Islamic Boarding School area in Tanjung Karang. As reported by Antara, Sunday (7/12/2025), piles of wood and mud covered the entrance to Tanjung Karang. The wood seemed to fill the area around the Islamic residence. Only the mosque and Islamic residence buildings are visible. Meanwhile, the surrounding area was flat and covered with logs and mud. Water also continues to flood the courtyard of the mosque and Islamic residence. Piles of wood and thick mud from the Tamiang River made it difficult for help to enter the area. Mud also filled the Aceh Tamiang District Hospital, streets and residents’ homes in Aceh Tamiang. The Aceh Tamiang Regency Government aims to clear the mud left from severe flooding at the Aceh Tamiang District Hospital to be completed within 3 days. “We are aiming to complete the cleaning of the RSUD in three days, many joint teams are helping, hopefully it will go smoothly,” said Aceh regent Tamiang Armia Pahmi in a written statement sent by BNPB, Sunday (7/12).
